  1. I would try moving that part of the TS after a drivers install. When Windows has booted following driver installs and it continues with it's TS it should be at full resolution for the monitor in question (Assume it's able to install the Graphics drivers). So maybe add it on after the OS Setup, and have it in it's own group further down the TS or even at the end?
  2. What is the TS meant to do (Other than install Windows)?
  3. You logs contain this error: As this post says, it could be a hardware fault somewhere on or between the desktop and server: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7442-sccm-2012-windows-7-os-deployment-failure-0x80072efe/ I have had this in the past (different errors though), and the image is just not applying...at least its not applying to a bootable partition
  4. Hi Sascha, Sorry for my late reply! Is this still something you are having trouble with? Or have you managed to solve it? Phil
  5. Would it be anything to do to with BITS or BITS 2.5 not being installed (2003 requires it to be manually installed. 2008+ already has it I think).
  6. The guy above was having a problem opening the Admin Console for SCCM 2012 on an XP machine. HE (himself) currently runs Windows 8.1 and he can (or at least could) open the console and connect. He has installed it on XP for another user, and the console wouldn't connect (I think you are correct in saying it doesn't work with XP as I have heard something about it, but could still be wrong). He has since installed the console on ANOTHER 8.1 machine and he is having the same issue with connecting to his server, so it can't JUST be the fact that he is trying it on XP, there is another problem somewhere else causing the issue. Hope that makes sense .
  7. Does the account you have given SCCM to use, have permissions to the local system? Try adding the account to Local Administrators or even just Local Users. It seems to be a "privilege" issue rather than a "permissions" issue...if that makes sense? lol
  8. Dobsonl is running Server 2008R2 so he cannnot upgrade Windows to 2012 of any kind. It would need to be a fresh install and either a rebuild of SCCM or a site restore Source: the above link
  9. Have you tried just updating/refreshing the DP with the software package?
  10. Never mind. For some reason they seem to have started to populate in Software Centre now since posting this. That is very random! lol Thanks
  11. Hi Trevor, A lit of these updates it's finding are security updates for server 2008 and .net. so it's not to do with any extra programs like office. Thanks Phil
  12. I have an SCCM server with the SUP enabled and managing Windows updates. ADRs all set. To be honest, it's working absolutly fine. Anyway, as it should, sccm distributed updates to my servers as and when they are downloaded. The thing is, my boss sometimes decides to go to the server, log on and open Windows Updates from control panel and tell the server to check. It often comes back with A LOT more updates than it shows on SCCM. Why is this? Are these maybe optional updates which I have not enabled on SCCM to deploy? Or is the server going out to Microsoft (even though it says managed by sys admin), and getting any which SCCM did not get? Is he wrong for doing this, and should he just let SCCM get on with it, or am I missing something my self? The Sync logs are all fine. I have ADR's which run daily/nightly and they never error unless there is a problem with the Internet, and updates do deploy as normal when they are found. This my setup for Server 2008 for example: Do I need to enable the "Severity" and/or maybe "Update Classification" to get all of them? One of my servers is fully up to date with SCCM, but it has now found 52 updates. Thanks Phil
  13. Ahh well there you go. Thanks Hydrax. Although, I just checked my default collections, I have the "All Desktop and Server Clients" collection, and I am able to add the variable to that. Not sure if that would fix it in a simpler way?
  14. Couldn't you apply that variable to the "All Systems" collection? I have it set on only unknown, and I get the symptoms you do, which is the desired effect. I don't know if it's possible to do it for all systems, or what any negative side effects may be as I've never needed it, but maybe rocketman might know? But what rocket is saying is all correct.
  15. I could be completely wrong, but from what I understand, if you select "UTC" it uses the local computers time
  16. If you follow the ADK/AIK things in the links above, you will find the .WIM files where you "copycmd" things too.
  17. It might sound obvious, but have you tried removing and re-installing the ADK with all of the correction options selected and then try re-running the SCCM prereq check?
  18. Hello, Sorry it's been a few weeks since I looked at this my self. I have forgotten it already!! haha. Anyway, I think if you go to the location where you copied the files using "Copycmd" you should find it in there under the folder you created ("c:\amd_64" for example). For me, once I complete the copycmd command for the 64 bit file, the "boot.wim" file is located: "C:\WinPE_amd64\media\sources" The "boot.wim" file is in there. Hope that makes sence.
  19. Hi Sascha, What I would try first is this: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/16233.how-to-create-or-re-create-a-default-sccm-boot-image-windows-pe-4-0-for-sccm-2012-sp1.aspx
  20. Hi, I'm not sure about any SOP I could offer. What kind of procedures are you looking for? Yes you should be able to install Windows XP with the above config. I use it for install Windows XP, 7 and 8.1 with no problems.
  21. Personally, I run a single primary sccm server on a virtualization server. It has 4 cores. Xenon processor. 10Gb ram. It does all of the above for 800+ machines. I have it all installed on one server. I'm soon moving it to it's own physical server with 4 cores again, but 16Gb of ram. The only thing I can't do at the moment as it is, is run the reports part of sccm. Hopefully I will be able to soon. Also, I have 2 hard drives. The system one for Windows is 120Gb and the second one for sccm and sql is 500Gb. My updates for Windows save to the 500Gb server, but all of my images and software are on a separate NAS of 2tb. It is a little slow, but I never have problems with it. I reboot it at least once a week to keep it fresh and up to date as well when needed. Hope this helps. (p.s. I'm pretty sure I'm running under the recommended spec, but I have no problems ... Yet. I've been running it like this for 12 months now).
  22. Hi Leusa, Have a look through this post and see if it helps: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9720-cannot-load-generic-boot-images/ Phli
  23. I'm not sure or even aware if it's possible to be as specific as that, but a good start would be to go in to "Administration\Security\Security Roles", make a copy of "Software Update Manager" and edit the permissions that copied group will have. Then add the Admin in question to SCCM "Administrative Users" and assign him the newly created role. Hopefully someone else here might know some more, but I could say that's a good place to start at least
