  1. The issue I'm describing is VERY FRUSTRATING. We are decommissioning a proxy server yet our firewall is still showing windows 7 computers hitting the proxy server. Here are the steps that I've taken and what I've looked at on one of the computers in question. DESELECTED "Automatically Detect Settings" Set "Use automatic configuration script" to reference the CORRECT proxy server that is currently in use DESELECTED AND CLEARED the entry under the "Proxy Server" entry for "Use a proxy server for your LAN......" Fields are blank and UNCHECKED Edited the registry and removed ALL references to the proxy server that we DO NOT want to reference (the one being decommissioned) both IP address and the hostname that references the proxy server. Changed the one installed application to point to the correct proxy server. Flushed the DNS cache on the workstation. With ALL these steps taken, can someone tell me where to look or tell me why the machine is still trying to reach out to the proxy that we're decommissioning?
  2. Hello to all, I open my record again at the forum with a problem that is driving me crazy I have in my work environment a problem with many accounts that are abnormally block. I started all the troubleshooting steps, and slowly I'm probably coming to realize what it is, but I have this event that I can not read well: EventId: 5 The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_TKT_NYV error from the server% 1. This Indicates That the ticket used against That server is not yet valid (in relationship to That time server). Contact your system administrator to make sure the client and server times are in sync, and That the KDC in realm% 2 is in sync with the KDC in the client realm. Ok I found that could be a problem Kerberos ticket but the strangest thing I do not understand is why this computer receives this error from another pc and not by a server: The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_TKT_NYV WORKSTATION1 error from the server. This Indicates That the ticket used against That server is not yet valid (in relationship to That time server). Contact your system administrator to make sure the client and server times are in sync, and That the KDC in realm DOMINIO.NET is in sync with the KDC in the client realm. You can help me ?? THANK YOU
  3. Hello All, My task is to trigger the HTA during windows installation and showcase the static screens while the installation continues in the background.Now the issue I'm facing is to trigger the HTA to appear on screen. I'm tying to test my sample HTA file but during installation startup, all I'm seeing is "a blank white window". Below is the code of my HTA file: <html> <head> <META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <style> .fullbackground{ position:relative; width:100%; /* alternative: right:0; */ height:100%; /* alternative: bottom:0; */ } img.fullbackground{ position:absolute; z-index:-1; top:0; left:0; width:100%; /* alternative: right:0; */ height:100%; /* alternative: bottom:0; */ } .messageSection { position: absolute; width: 100%; } .mainbody, .header, .footer { padding: 5px; } .mainbody { margin-top: 25px; min-height: 150px; max-height: 388px; overflow: auto; } .messagePara { font-family: Calibri; font-size: 16pt; font-weight: bold; color: #FFFFFF; text-align: center; margin-left:20%; margin-right:20%; margin-bottom:20%;} .header { margin: auto; width: 60%; padding: 10px; text-align:left; color: #FFFFFF; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold; margin-top:30px; } .footer { height: 40px; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt; font-weight: bold; color: #FFFFFF; text-align: center; position: absolute; width:100%; bottom:0; left:0; } </style> <HTA:APPLICATION ID="oHTA" BORDER="none" CAPTION="no" CONTEXTMENU="no" Icon="autorun.ico" INNERBORDER="no" NAVIGABLE="yes" SCROLL="no"/> <script language="javascript"> var __TITLE_VAR_TEXT = "Sample Title"; var __COPYRIGHT_VAR_TEXT = "Sample Footer"; var __MESSAGE_DISC_VAR_TEXT = "Sample Message"; var __LINKBODYBACKGROUND_VAR_TEXT = "shuttle6b.jpg"; //background image var splashWindowWidth = 637; var splashWindowHeight = 479; if (window.screen) { splashWindowLeft = (window.screen.availWidth - splashWindowWidth) / 2; splashWindowTop = (window.screen.availHeight - splashWindowHeight) / 2; } try { window.moveTo(splashWindowLeft, splashWindowTop); window.resizeTo(splashWindowWidth, splashWindowHeight); } catch(e){} function windowOnLoad() { maxWindow(); document.title = __MESSAGE_DISC_VAR_TEXT; document.getElementById("image").src=__LINKBODYBACKGROUND_VAR_TEXT; window.setTimeout("closeScreen()",5000); } function closeScreen() { self.close(); } function maxWindow() { window.moveTo(0,0); if (document.all) { top.window.resizeTo(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight); } else if (document.layers||document.getElementById) { if (top.window.outerHeight<screen.availHeight||top.window.outerWidth<screen.availWidth) { top.window.outerHeight = screen.availHeight; top.window.outerWidth = screen.availWidth; } } } </script> </head> <body style="text-align: center; " onload="windowOnLoad()"> <div class="fullbackground"> <img id="image" class="fullbackground" /> <div class="header"> <script language="javascript">document.write(__TITLE_VAR_TEXT);</script></div> <div class="mainbody"> <p id="messagePara" class="messagePara"> <script language="javascript">document.write(__MESSAGE_DISC_VAR_TEXT);</script> </p> </div> <div class="footer"> <script language="javascript">document.write(__COPYRIGHT_VAR_TEXT); </script></div> </div> </body> </html> I've updated the required INI file with the following entries:- [sample] type = command Caption=UI Reboot=No CommandLine="mshta.exe %programfiles%\Folder_1\ Folder_2\Folder_3\Folder_4\Sample.hta" I've referred the below URLs :- http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/topic/5968-hta-blank-screen/ http://blogs.msdn.com/b/joelschoenberg/archive/2008/08/18/maintenance-booting-your-windows-machines.aspx But none of the options worked. I also tried with passing the HTA file in arguments as mentioned below:- CommandLine=mshta.exe Arguments="%programfiles%\Folder_1\Folder_2\Folder_3\Folder_4\Sample.hta" but it didn't worked. NOTE: I've also used the direct path of "Sample.hta" file but it still didn't show up. Before installation, I've tried pressing F8 key and running the HTA using mshta.exe and that works completely fine. Can anyone please share some suggestions of how to execute this "HTA" from INI file and the correct commandLine value ? Thanks in advance.
  4. I am trying to install the windows 7 from sccm 2012 but every time my destination pc boots into boot file and restart after showing the task sequence. What could be the cause of this? I am deploying custome windows 7 wim file.
  5. I have determined how to properly place new computers in their appropriate OU's based on some html drop down options. However I want to go even further and place Windows8 machines in a subdirectory of the Ou's they go into. What statement should I be using for this? The only thing that specifies if it is a win 7 or 8 is the deployment. One is called Windows 7 Deployment in the software library and one is called Windows 8 Deployment. How would I use these variables?
  6. Hi All, First time poster. I have an odd issue and I am not sure it belongs under Windows 7, but I didn't see a better choice. The issue we are having is strange. Users running windows 7 on HP 4000pro computers are having issues with connectivity to one of our domain controllers. I say its with one because they can ping and contact other computers and servers on our Lan/Wan but cannot access the Domain controller on their local Lan. If we go into DHCP and block the IP they have assigned and renew the address with a new IP they then can connect. A few weeks later they will again have the same issue and we repeat the process of blocking and renewing with a new IP. The list of blocked IPs are growing and at the rate we will be out of IP addresses in 6 months. We thought it might be an issue with the built in NIC card so we purchase new card and installed them. We thought that fixed the issue but we just had 2 of the users with the new NIC card and these model PC have the issue repeat itself. The domain controller is a windows server 2003 which is being replaced in 2015. We only have 7 of these HPs. We have not seen the issue with any other models of computers on our network. We also have another office that is connected had has a few of these computer models, but has different domain controllers - and we have not had the issue in that office. Any suggestions on how I might resolve this issue? No I have not contacted HP. That is my next step.
  7. Hello, I am struggling with some reports from users of updates installing mid-day, randomly and not during their specified "off hours". Every month we have an ADR that targets a collection of ALL WINDOWS 7 Clients. It creates a new software update group, makes the update available 4 hours after the ADR runs, and the deadline is 10 days later. This rule runs at 2AM. The user experience is to Display updates in Software Center and show all notifications. Under Deadline Behavior Software Installation is checked and nothing else. The client computer has set work hours for 7-7 Every weekday. They have also checked the "Automatically install or uninstall required software and restart the computer only outside of business hours" There is no defined maintenance window on the collection since we have some 24 hour shifts. Am I missing something? Is there something else to check? Thanks! This is 2012 SP1 CU3
  8. Hello all, I'm still fairly new to SCCM2012, and I have a couple of questions. I looked online, but didn't have much luck as to finding a direct answer. Does SCCM2012 automatically deploy the new Win7 updates that I add to my deployment package? Or do I have to manually create an entire new deployment package? What I would ideally like to do is deploy new Win7 updates biweekly (or even monthly), and i'm not positive of the best way to approach this. My goal is to have it be as automated as possible.
  9. Is it possible to have a prompt to add domain users as an admin when deploying an OS image? Ive looked this up but it looks like its only possible by using a HTA frontend. I wanted to avoid this if possible.
  10. Hi guys I am all new to using ImageX to capture images of Windows 7 and could use a good advice. I have made myself a customized Windows PE image that I have added an additional folder called “Tools” to. In this folder I have added some command line tools that might be handy to have when I boot on my Windows PE image. It would be nice if this path was included to the path environment at boot time so I don't need to change directory to use these command line tools. How can I easily add an extra path environment to my Windows PE image?
