  1. right click on a Software Update Group and choose show members, from there, you can select updates and right click to Edit Membership, that will remove the update(s) from the software update groups
  2. check the following:- 1. firewall, disabled it as a test on the client. 2. clientinstall account, verify its a member of the Local Administrators group on the client 3. if the above don't help then verify that the boundary group references tab has the site code checked 4. verify the clientinstall password is correctly specified in client push cheers niall
  3. are you using configmgr rc1 or 2 or ??
  4. glad it's working for you now :-)
  5. hi there, I havn't implemented this, it's a post from Kenny, so you are receieving a mail but it's got the wrong computername, is that your only problem ?
  6. i'd recommend you look into Role Based Access Control to do the console building for you, that way depending on the permissions you choose in the custom role you define, you'll get a different console !
  7. that has no relevance to your issue, your task sequence must be failing in the setup windows and confirmgr step, do you by any chance have that step set to continue on error ? bad idea... please post your entire SMSTS.log file here
  8. couple of things to check. 1. is dhcp running on the same box or elsewhere ?, i've seen issues with vmware using it's own dhcp server causing issues with OSD in a virtual env 2. is DNS working ? check with nslookup 3. are both boot images distributed to the distribution points ?
  9. here's the Powerpoint (SCCM_Configuration Manager 2012 - Software Update Management) I showed and details of the demos, I will try and post further guides in the coming weeks to explain the demos... Powerpoint:- SCCM_Configuration Manager 2012 - Software Update Management.pptx The Demos:- The Demos - Configuration Manager 2012 - Software Update Management.txt
  10. look at the task sequence in the screenshot below, notice that the Restore user state happens AFTER Setup Windows and ConfigMgr, in other words, in Windows... is yours before or after that step ?
  11. that;s not what i'm referring to, the step 'restore user state' must be running in the Full OS, not in WinPE which is what caused your error.
  12. you are probably trying to run the command in windows PE which isnt supported, so check where you are trying to run the step, you need to restore user state in full windows... Failed to run the action: Restore User State. The request is not supported. (Error: 80070032; Source: Windows) TSManager 17/01/2012 5:17:51 PM 1456 (0x05B0)

  15. well if you didnt find the user state then either scanstate or loadstate failed, review the logs to find out which did (usually scanstate fails, so review scanstate.log)
  16. and for those searching for the same problem the answer for you was to....?
  17. post the smsts.log here please
  18. I would recommend you forget about beta 2 and look at my guides for installing Release Candidate instead, the issue you are having does ring a bell however and as far as i remember it was to do with sql itself and what account is was running under, changing it to Local System seemed to be the fix
  19. integrate mdt 2010 update 1 with configmgr, go through the wizard in task sequences to create a Microsoft Deployment Toolkit task sequence, easy. done.
  20. oops ! better have a read of this then:- How can I password Protect a Task Sequence ? Password Protecting a Task Sequence
  21. well check by enabling command prompt support, without an ip it will reboot
  22. hi paul looks like your boot image is corrupt try re-distributing it to your distribution points and try again
  23. what vm are you using ? is it vmware ? you probably need to add network drivers to your boot image, enable command prompt support in your boot image to test the theory before it reboots that is.
  24. try right clicking and choose Run As Administrator, then try the same thing again...
  25. HTA's provide additional functionality and customizability that doesn't exist in the product out of box, so you will most likely see many HTA's for SCCM 2012 once it finally goes RTM.
