  1. Greetings ! i am excited to be part of this! i am new to SCCM 2007! I have machines that are failing to update, i get the following error [with this error status id: 11751] from the WUHandler log: Unable to read existing WUA resultant policy. Error = 0x80070002.... Group policy settings were overwritten by a higher authority (Domain Controller) to: Server and Policy NOT CONFIGURED.... Failed to Add Update Source for WUAgent of type (2) and id ({F306B350-CE5E-4686-8309-2585E44AF6E0}). Error = 0x80040692. Many thanks!
  2. I apologize if this is obvious and is answered somewhere else, but I wasn't able to find by searching. SCCM 2012. I have a few thousand Windows Embedded Standard 7 (SP1) systems. I have a Software Update Group with the latest updates and I've deployed it to a collection with a test system. When I check that system it says "There are no updates available for your computer". If I run a report in SCCM it shows "Not required" for all the updates in the update group. However, if I click "Check online for updates from Windows Update" from the client it eventually comes back with a list of requir
  3. Gents, We are managing MS updates through SCCM and it is working well. We are now facing to a reboot issue. We enable the following GPO : No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates So there is no automatic restart but there is still a reboot required at the end of the grace period I think. I would like to increase this period or delete the reboot any idea ? Sypa
  4. Gents, I recently set up software updates through automatic deployment rules. All works fine but some days after the deployments, users' laptops restart without any notification. Do you have an idea in order to suppress these unwanted reboots. Thanks in advance. Syparon
  5. Has anyone run into a problem where the config mgr client stays stuck in provisioning mode after the TS completes? I currently have a couple scripts that force it out of this mode during the TS, but it causes the windows updates to fail to install at the end of the TS. If i take the scripts off, Windows Updates install, but then the client stays in provisioning mode and doesnt register with the CM.
  6. Has anyone seen this before? This is preventing me from downloading updates during an ADR, and also preventing software groups from being made.
  7. I have just started pushing out updates via SCCM 2012. I downloaded the updates into a separate WSUS folder, created a deployment package and software update group and deployed the updates. When I look on the system, it shows the updates are there, but all of them failed. When I click retry in software center, they install just fine. What am I missing that these install manually but not automatically like the deployment was setup to do? **Update** Some of the pc's received the updates just fine, others did not. Not sure what the difference is yet, but I'll keep looking into it. I do
  8. Guys, We have several automatic deployment rules that create deployments based on computer type (Server / Workstation). The deployment groups are created automatically but the actual deployment must be created manually because the 'outage' window for windows updates differents every month (the date is set about 3 months prior). This means creating about 25 deployments manually, we have a template that we use per deployment but its very (very very (understatement) very) slow and time comsuming. SCCM is at 2012 R2, and all workstations are Windows 7. Servers are 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012
  9. I've been tasked by management to provide a report out of SCCM Report Manager showing all the windows updates that have been applied to a particular device collection. In this case, it's the servers collection. Is there a report already available that I'm missing, or how can I create this report so management can run it out of Report Manager?
  10. Not sure what is going on here but my Client workstations are not detecting any windows updates from SCCM software update point. I installed the WSUS on the SCCM server, configured GPOs to point to the SCCM server per AnyWeb's guide on this forum. I tried the following to resolve but failed to fix: net stop "Windows Update" del /f /s /q %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\*.* REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update" /v NextDetectionTime /f REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v SusClientId /f REG
  11. Hi all, I'm looking for a way to collect and query on installed updates with SCCM 2012 SP1. I've tried using Win32_quickfixengineering but for for some reason not getting anything back. Any tips to achieve this? Thanks in advance. Nigel
  12. Hello, The guy the use to do the server updates retired and my boss would like to utilize SCCM 2012 to do the updates. They are currently getting there updates from WSUS and group policy. He has specific policies setup to restart specific servers at certain times of the day according to what works for the users. I'm thinking the best way of doing this with SCCM would be to create a software update group that contains those servers he had in the policy which can get restarted on the same day or at the same time. My question is that these servers are Server 2003, Server 2008 and Server 201
  13. I am playing around with pushing out Windows Updates using SCCM 2012 and everything is going good until I get two updates that are stuck at downloading. Not sure what the issue is and not sure what logs to look at to find out what is causing this issue. Does anyone know how to fix this or ran into this issue? Thanks. I attached a screenshot of what happening.
  14. Hi all! First post so I apologise if I miss important stuff! I am having an issue with my deployment of Windows 7 (this has previously worked correctly, although I haven't used it in a couple of months, I am now trying to set it all up for mass deployment). I'll start with a bit of background, and what I have done so far to try and correct this issue: Server is Windows Server Standard 2008 R2. SCCM 2007 R3. Issue first manifested as task sequence freezing at "Downloading Updates 0% Complete" and not progressing any further. After some google-fu I noticed there was a hotfix I had not ye
  15. All of a sudden (last month I didn't have this problem) I get an error when trying to update some deployment packages or even create new ones for Windows 7 update deployment. I run though all the steps and when I get to the end (See Attachment). Anyone have an idea? I've checked permissions on the folder where the updates reside.
  16. Hello all, I'm working with windows updates to apply in the task sequence during the image process. I have followed the directions from this site and others. It is working however it seems to not be applying all of the updates that are in the update list. It is applying about 15 updates and then quits. After the image process if I go to windows updates and check online for updates there are about 11 still in there. I cross check these with my list and most if not all are in my list. I get the same result if I create a TS that runs with out OS deployment.
