  1. why are you using HTTPS for all communication ? in my guide i covered HTTP communication only, do you have any specific reason for doing it twith HTTPS ? (it adds more complexity to the situation) James describes the process for using build and capture in HTTPS mode here
  2. i don't recall testing deploying Windows 7 with RIS however here's how to setup WDS on Server 2003, and it can deploy both XP and Windows Vista so Windows 7 should also be possible however, i'd recommend you use MDT 2010 update 1 (or a later version) to deploy Windows 7 if you cannot use Configuration Manager 2007/2012.
  3. diskpart your disk and create a partition on it, then try the task sequence again
  4. if you want to do it that way in production go ahead, but you'll have a hard time keeping track of what is going out to your systems and when, by setting it to Last one day and scheduling it to occur just after patch tuesday once per month, you are deciding when and where your systems get patched.
  5. yes you have to create that folder manually, it's simply there to store the contents of the Windows 7 Updates for the windows 7 deployment package simply add a space or fullstop or rename the original ADR slightly to get the desired result, no you are not doing anything wrong, mine has an extra space (from memory..) you are welcome
  6. you create the ADR to create the deployment package, once done you disable the ADR and recreate it as before, except this time you re-use the previously created deployment package, this is to avoid recreating the deployment package every time the ADR runs...
  7. are you clicking on the Update button in the SCEP console or are you letting it update itself as per policy ?
  8. have you reviewed the troubleshooting section of this post ? feel free to attach some logs for us to take a look at
  9. have you seen this post, it's for CM07 but the same rules should apply more or less...
  10. how did you backup ? using Configuration Managers built in backup function or something else ?
  11. until microosft releases a fix the suggested workarounds on myitforum are what you should do (don't deploy this update and/or disable wmi rebuilding.)
  12. if you are using vmware they you probably have the built in vmware dhcp server enabled, have you checked that ?
  13. sure, but if you want to check the compliance status of your ADR deployment on let's say all your Configuration Manager Servers, how are you planning on doing that ? if you are pointing at the All Desktops and Servers collection you won't get this granularity...
  14. if you want the clients connected to that management point (on that primary) to scan against that sup then yes you should also have wsus and sup installed on the other primary.
  15. that example on my blog does show you how to create distribution points however it is specifically aimed at doing so on a X86 server, if you are using an X64 server then you will gain additional functionality
  16. have you verified the updates are downloaded in the deployment package ? have you added this computer to a build and capture collection or is it unknown the entire time ?
  17. nice find, also to note Cu2 is out and it contains all the fixes in Cu1
  18. 1. yes it's posible 2. you can place distribution points at the 4 locoal offices, no probnlem at all, or you can have have 4 secondary servers, it's up to you what you think you need.
  19. are you doing this on a CAS or Primary server ? do you have a CAS ? is there any other WSUS infrastructure in your organization
  20. have you tried running the replication link analyzer ? what did it say ?
  21. WSUS should not be configured, it should only be installed prior to adding the SUP role did you follow my guides ? if not can you explain exactly what you did do ?
  22. how are you initiating the reboot ? is it using the built in step in the task sequence ?
  23. can you answer this > you really need to provide more information and logs to explain what your problem is, are you saying that SCEP is installing on your computers ? have you reviewed all your custom and default client settings yet ?
  24. you really need to provide more information and logs to explain what your problem is, are you saying that SCEP is installing on your computers ? have you reviewed all your custom and default client settings yet ? are you sure it's SCEP and not something else ? how about including a screenshot ?
