  1. Hi, It is nor supported to migrate SCCM servers from one domain to another so reinstall of your SCCM infrastrcuture is your only option. "Configuration Manager does not support moving a site server between domains. If you must move a site server, you must uninstall Configuration Manager from the server, move the server to the new domain, and then install a new Configuration Manager site. You cannot successfully restore the original site to a server that has been moved to a new domain." http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712681.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  2. Hi, It sounds like the PXE point is working great, and that you have a problem with the unattend.xml file instead. If you open it in the Windows System Image Manager which is part of WAIK. Are the unattend-.xml file valid? Regards, Jörgen
  3. Hi, The CCMSetup folder will exist on all clients so that is not a problem, it is expected. the client could be left in Provisoning mode: http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2010/09/13/solution-after-a-configmgr-2007-osd-task-sequence-completes-the-client-may-not-automatically-pull-down-policy.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  4. HI, Builtin in configuration manager you can set that the computer must reboot and a countdown will appear. That is the only builtin feature, if you want any other behaviour you have to script it yourself.. Regards, Jörgen
  5. Hi, Check int he following log files where the details of the failed check can be found - ConfigMgrSetup.log or ConfigMgrPrereq.log Regards, Jörgen
  6. Hi, Check out the guide that Niall has written http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4466-using-sccm-2012-rc-in-a-lab-part-5-enable-the-endpoint-protection-role-and-configure-endpoint-protection-settings/ Regards, Jörgen
  7. Hi, You cannot clone the SCCM site server as each server needs a uniquie qite code and so on. So I would install SQL and SCCM after the template is deployed. Regards, Jörgen
  8. Hi, there is no higher version only hotfixes which increases the version... /Jörgen
  9. Hi, No there is no settings that can be used to control this today. In windows 8 there will be some features in the OS for differentiating 3g/4G networks from the rest. If that will be supported in SCCM 2012 nobody knows yet. The only thing you can do is to mark the VPN network or whatever they are connecting with as a "Slow" network and you could potentially throttle BITS as well but that is per client using GPO or per site using SCCM and not per network so it is no a good solution. regards, Jörgen
  10. Hi, Do you want to upgrade to SCCM 2012 or? there is no more current version of sccm 2007 available SP2+R3 is the latest version. Regards, Jörgen
  11. Hi, You need to replace "=" with "LIKE" here: SMS_R_System.OperatingSystemNameandVersion = "%server%6.0%" it should be: SMS_R_System.OperatingSystemNameandVersion LIKE "%server%6.0%" That should do it. Regards, Jörgen
  12. Hi, In SCCM 2012 you can select a scripted install type and get the possibility to run a batch file, what you need to do is to create the application manually and then when it is created you can add a deployment type as a "Scripted" and there you can rung whatever command line you want. However, I would not use a Scripted Install for the reason to add "tranfsorms=reader.mst" you can add that part in the Deployemnt Type for the application under the "program" tab you can modify the install command line.. Regards, Jörgen
  13. Hi, Are we talking about one machine or many? If one I would use SCCM Client Center to achieve it: http://sourceforge.net/projects/smsclictr/ or Right click tools. Using that you can connect to the client computer and rerun the advertisement manually. Regards, Jörgen
  14. Hi, Yes of course is that possible... You should consider to use Sysprep though when cloning the disk, here is a walk-through guide:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/ee530017 Regards, Jörgen
  15. Hi, I assume we are talking SCCM 2007, then the answer is no, you need to make use of a collection structure that moves the client from the "Install" collection and adds it back when hardware inventory reports the application is missing. You also need to set the advertisement to rerun on a schedule otherwise the installation will not run again even if added back to the "Install" collection. regards, Jörgen
  16. Hi, Have you configured a static IP address on the DC? Is everything working on the DC, DNS running e.t.c?
  17. Hi, Do you want to uninstall the SCCM 2012 client from a computer? running ccmsetup.exe /uninstall is the only way, you can however put that in a script, logon script, scheduled task using group policy preference. But that is the only way. regards, Jörgen
  18. Hi, check out this post: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrgeneral/thread/9a1fb650-b6c3-4858-98d0-ec06ebd83b69/ regards, Jörgen
  19. Hi, When you test run it manually, do you use the same service account? Does it work then? Regards, Jörgen
  20. Hi, IT takes care of that so just use the command line: wscript.exe addtogroup.vbs IndiaDesktopgroup And you are good to go. Regards, Jörgen
  21. Hi, The only thing I can think of is to re-configure how often the clients scan for updates so that they do that as soon as possible, perhaps once a day. How did you configure the deadline? I would configure it as soon as possible as well to have a change to catch as many clients as possible within the two weeks. regards, Jörgen
  22. Hi, In your scenario above the script will be executed using the System Account on the client compouter which doesn't have permission in AD, so I would start by using a service account with the neceserray permissions. Check out the script I use to achieve the same thing, there is a description on how to implement it as well. http://ccmexec.com/2010/08/adding-computer-to-ad-groups-during-deployment/ regards, Jörgen
  23. Hi, It depends on the size of the locations but generally I would say no, WSUS/Sup is only used when scanning for software updates, when you deploy them the process utilizes the normal DP's and MP policy traffic. regards, Jörgen
  24. Hi, Yes there is, simply don't set a deadline on the deployment, then the logged in user can choose which updates to install from a list simliar to the WSUS appearence. Regards, Jörgen
