  1. Hi, That is how I normally do it as well, however "should also add that uninstalling the VPN client disables the NIC (which is helpful) so i have copied the client locally and am using it that way" I have not seen, that would probably cause the issue. Why is it disabled and why don't re-enable it? Regards, Jörgen
  2. Hi, You will store all content twice as it is both in the source files and ContentLib, I normally place the source files on a different server or something. Did you delete the Software Update groups or what did you do when you "cleaned" them? Regards, Jörgen
  3. Hi, It looks like Paul had the same issue, he removed the Reporting Services role and the Reporting DB as well and then added it back, check out this: https://sccmentor.com/2016/10/03/upgrading-your-sccm-site-database/ Regards, Jörgen
  4. Hi, You can manage a part of the Start menu in Windows 10, starting in Windows 10 1511. https://4sysops.com/archives/partially-lock-the-windows-10-start-menu-layout-with-group-policy/ Regards, Jörgen
  5. Hi, Are you seeing this one more than one computer or is it many? the 1511 client had a tendency to be corrupt so a CCMrepair.exe could solve it for you. depending on the amount of clients. /Jörgen
  6. Hi, There have been a lot of strange issues, like timing issues where the driver fails to load fast enough and so on.. check out this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/SCCM/comments/40u7lv/winpe_failed_to_find_a_valid_network_adapter_but/ /Jörgen
  7. Hi, There was some issues with that after that upgrade... what if you change the description of one of the apps so it actually updates the app, does it install then? Please attach the App* log files as well as the SMSTS not really contains the actual casue. /Jörgen
  8. Hi, Version 5.00.7958.100 of the sccm client is R2 RTM and it will install on a Windows 10 as the Windows Update client will fail to install.. http://ccmexec.com/2015/04/sccm-2012-client-fails-to-install-windows-10-build-10049/ You need to upgrade to R2 SP1 to be able to manage Windows 10 clients. Regards, Jörgen
  9. Hi, It looks like it is something with the formating step, storage drivers or simply a format is needed.. as the TS throws this: "We do not find an available volume to store the local data path TSManager 2016-01-28 12:08:23 1348 (0x0544)" Are you using BIOS och UEFI? it says that the UEFI Format step is disabled.. /Jörgen
  10. Hi, You can use a Startup script in a GPO so that the client is installed when the client startup in your network, works great. Jason has written a great one, I use it all the time http://blog.configmgrftw.com/configmgr-client-startup-script/ Regards, Jörgen
  11. Hi, You can also use UI++ which gives you other options, and no MDT needed. http://blog.configmgrftw.com/uiplusplus/ /Jörgen
  12. Hi, There are now way of changing that so I would file a bug to Microsoft about it. Regards, Jörgen
  13. Hi, There are no way exclude an Ip subnet from a boundary group, so I would revert from using AD Sites to IP address Ranges so you can have better control of the content and where it si downloaded from. /Jörgen
  14. Hi, If you have reboots before applicaiton installations you should tweak the following values if you haven't already... http://ccmexec.com/2014/12/smstsmplistrequesttimeout-value-in-milliseconds/ Regards, Jörgen
  15. Hi, THe information shown in the control panel applet was changed to 2012, sadly as it was useful information so as Garth wrote you are OK! /Jörgen
  16. Hi, It will not boot using that either as it is not an BIOS machine it uses UEFI and the boot file name is different for UEFI. So what you need to do is to switch to using IP Helpers instead of the DHCP Option. The DHCP option as never been recommended by Microsoft and possible not supported either and the reason is the little issue you have ran into now that it will not support different technologies. http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2011/01/05/troubleshooting-the-pxe-service-point-and-wds-in-configuration-manager-2007.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  17. Hi, The setup program on the start menu is for the version of Configuration Manager that you have installed and will not assist you installing a Service Pack or update. Download the service pack or update you want to install and read the insstallation instructions on Technet as you should amongst other test the database before upgrade and so on. Regards, Jörgen
  18. Hi, Haven't tried that, apply driver package always works so much better than apply driver. I would test that instead and then it should work as you tell the ConfigmGr client what drivers should be installed. /Jörgen
  19. Hi, Are you booting through PXE? then the password is set on the Distribution point under the PXE tab. /Jörgen
  20. Hi, In the appenforce.log file above, the office installation exits with 1618 "Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install." So what is the step before the office installation? does it fire of another installation that SCCM doesn't see? That is where I would start looking. Regards, Jörgen
  21. Hi, The screenshot you posted above looks very much like a UEFI based computer trying to boot using the "old" .com file you specified in the option 67. Have you verified that the computers not are configured to used UEFI as Surface Pro 3? /Jörgen
  22. Hi, Not really sure what your question is, should the screen show? doesn't it work? Regards, Jörgen
  23. Hi, IT is a known bug in SP2/ R2 SP1 that the deployment start time is set to UTC instead of the local time, so when you create the deployment, select deployment start time and put it back 3 Hours. then it will show up without waiting. Regards, Jörgen
  24. Hi, Sounds strange, any errors in the Component Status? are other status messages from clients beeing processed? Regards, Jörgen
