  1. did you apply this ? https://www.niallbrady.com/2016/08/05/update-your-configmgr-1606-sup-servers-to-deploy-the-windows-10-anniversary-update/
  2. don't you see this ? CB and CBB are set via gpo, registry but essentially it's the same media as i'm showing here.
  3. correct you must upgrade to 1511 first, and from there you can upgrade directly to 1606.
  4. we are deploying Windows 10 1511 CBB for new computer installs and evaluating 1607 currently, when it get's declared CBB we'll probably move to that (once any identified issues are resolved)
  5. well you'll need to upgrade your hierarchy to SCCM current branch 1602 or later to support servicing or deployment of Windows 10 version 1607, it's not supported with your current setup, so the suggested route would be to upgrade SCCM to 1511 (current branch) then upgrade that using the Service Connection Point to 1602 or 1606 current branch, and install this KB to allow WSUS to see the 1607 update https://www.niallbrady.com/2016/08/05/update-your-configmgr-1606-sup-servers-to-deploy-the-windows-10-anniversary-update/
  6. why would someone delete the account from AD ? I havn't tested that scenario yet though...but if you simply run gpupdate /force won't it reapply the gpo's and do what you want ?
  7. so what does the ConfigMgrPrereq.log in the root of C:\ say ? attach it here...
  8. hi do you want me to connect and take a look, i can remote in via teamviewer ?
  9. the error means so have you changed permissions on those folders ? here's the permissions on mine... also, don't go deleting stuff or making database edits without being absolutely sure what you are doing, database edits are not supported unless microsoft tells you to do so
  10. well are they warnings or errors, warnings can be ignored, errors can not.
  11. It appears the Windows team is ready or at least gearing up to release a new build to Insiders that follows the path of Redstone 2 development. A friend of the Windows Insider community Zac Bowden twitted an early screen grab of a new build title Windows 10 Insider Preview 14901 that is accompanying a Windows Defender update release. via winbeta @ http://www.winbeta.org/news/first-windows-10-redstone-2-preview-release-appears-insiders-build-14901
  12. this version of the script not only checks for network but storage too, and it offers a retry option on network, can you please explain why you see the need to have an ignore switch ?
  13. do you mean you are upgrading from SCCM 2012 R2 to 1511 Current Branch, is that where you are seeing the prerequisites complaining ?
  14. hi have you applied this update ? it's needed to download the Windows 10 version 1607 files from wsus https://www.niallbrady.com/2016/08/05/update-your-configmgr-1606-sup-servers-to-deploy-the-windows-10-anniversary-update/ make sure you read the KB article before starting deployments
  15. are you applying any drivers for the surface book ?
  16. try it and see what happens, this script kicks off wpeinit -winpe so yes you can try to insert your commands prior to this, or simply insert them then kick off the init again
  17. you might want to consider adding a delay of a week or so to the cleanup of some folders, for example C:\Windows\Temp as many applications logs are logged to their or the appdata\local\temp equivalent, so troubleshooting failed installs of apps might be a challenge if the logs are deleted, just a thought
  18. well if the prestart is not executed then are you sure you updated the correct boot image ?
  19. you can't change edition in the upgrade, it's enterprise to enterprise (for example)
  20. to update this... The issue is with the boot WIM version, which comes from the version of ADK installed (Assessment and Deployment Kit). Use this version of the ADK (Windows ADK for Windows 10 version 1607) for the fix
  21. the cons to having another primary would mean needing a CAS and nearly everyone I know recommends avoiding to have a CAS due to the problems you may face if and when site-to-site replication starts having issues, take a look at this post for some ideas... https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/neilp/2012/08/20/cross-forest-support-in-configmgr-2012-part-1-simple-management/
  22. if you remove those two lines altogether, what happens ?
