  1. Hi, You should not manually remove anything from the contentlibrary, it will Clean itself up when you delete and application for instance, or a OS deployment .WIM file. Regards, Jörgen
  2. Hi, I wrote a Little blog post on it a while ago: http://ccmexec.com/2012/01/prevent-the-monitor-to-enter-power-save-during-osd/ Regards, Jörgen
  3. Hi, If you have advertised more than one Task Seqeunce to a Collection where the task seqeunces uses different boot images, the client will Always pick up the boot image of the task seqeunce that was advertised last. Could that be the issue you are facing? Regards, Jörgen
  4. Hi, Normally this is becuase there was no user logged on when the heartbeat was triggered and therefore there is no user domain and no last logged on user reported to SCCM. I would say this is as expected. Regards, Jörgen
  5. Hi, The users are more than liklely added by the Group Discovery, how did you configure it? Yes you can delete them from the SCCM console, they will not be deleted in AD. Regards, Jörgen
  6. Hi, No sorry, there is no such tool published as far as I know. I normally use the information on TechNet http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh846235.aspx and the excel spreadsheet from Kent at Coretech: http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/system-center-2012-configuration-manager-sql-recommendations/ Regards, Jörgen
  7. Hi, No and no. It is normal to boot to MDT if SCCM fails, Did you try to boot the computer from SCCM Before you imported it and added it to the Collection? THen the PXE cache could cause the issue. http://sccmcorner.blogspot.se/2012/03/i-had-issue-with-laptop-that-was-loaded.html Normally I use Unknown computer support so that if the computer doesn't exist in SCCM it is treated as a "unknown" device and can boot anyway:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc161877.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  8. Hi, Are they approved in the console? otherwsie they will not apply any policies.. Regards, Jörgen

    xml file

Hi, There are actually no XML file involved, you should check out Nialls guides here: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4045-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-guides/. The difference when deploying updates to a workgroup client is that you should use SMSMP=management Point servername when you run ccmsetup.exe on the client and that you need to manage Client approval in the SCCM admin console.. more information can be found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712298.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  10. Hi, Have you downloaded the WINPE 4 driver pack from HP? It should contain all the files you need. As it downloads the boot image first locally and then restarts and fails, I would make sure that the correct boot image is assigned to the Task Sequence and that you boot from it directly instead. Regards, Jörgen
  11. Hi, there is no way to extend which attriibutes you can add in the console view, sorry to say. Regards, Jörgen

    xml file

Hi, Could you please provide a Little more information? What is it you want to achieve with the XML file? deploy it using the Software Updates feature? Regards, Jörgen
  13. Hi, To deploy the SCCM client on workgroup computers you need to make sure that your SCCM Site is published in AD and that you install the client using the SMSMP= which replaces the SLP switch in SCCM 2007. The next thing you need to approve the workgroup computers, the automatic approval is configured for domain based computers so if you use Workgroup computers you need to either change the auto-approval setting or manually approve them in the console. If you look at a ccmsetup.log file on one of these computers, do you find anything useful there? Locationsservices.log file can also be used to see if it finds it's site. More information on Workgroup computers: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712298.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  14. Hi, There is no postpone feature, what you could do it make the updates available to them so they have a couple of Days to install the updates when it suites them, and inform them that if they don't the updates will be installed automatically on say Friday at 17:00 or something like that. Regards, Jörgen
  15. Hi, The installation is already finished, but the splash screen you are seeing is the same as during OS setup, so the OS is fully installed. Regards, Jörgen
  16. Hi, No there are no way to restore just a task sequence you would have to restore the whole SCCM enviroment. Is it the correct task Sequence? What error are you getting?? Regards, Jörgen
  17. Hi, One big difference between MDT and Configuration Manager is that MDT uses autologon to the desktop as a local admin, configMgr on the other hand runs under the System Context so the desktop is never loaded and no user is logged on. So it sounds like Everything is in order in your Environment. Regards, Jörgen
  18. Hi, If you use the builtin remote desktop feautre i the OS it is logged to the event log, The Configuration Manager client is not really involved in that process. If you use the SCCM Remote Tools instead you can see it through the status messages and there are reports as well on who remote controlled who.. regards, Jörgen
  19. Hi, There is no builtin way for it, most use a Custom severity like this: http://blog.danovich.com.au/2012/12/18/decline-exclude-an-update-in-sccm-2012/ Regards; Jörgen
  20. Hi, Where do you run it in the task sequence? it has to be run in the full Windows OS that would be after the "Setup windows and Configuration manager" step. Regards, Jörgen
  21. Hi, The only way I can think of is to do a restore from backup.. Regards, Jörgen
  22. Hi, Something like this should do it, it doesn't complain that it isn't a valid Query: select SMS_R_System.ResourceId, SMS_R_System.ResourceType, SMS_R_System.Name, SMS_R_System.SMSUniqueIdentifier, SMS_R_System.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup, SMS_R_System.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_SoftwareProduct on SMS_G_System_SoftwareProduct.ResourceId = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where SMS_R_System.SystemOUName = "MyDomain.AC.UK/WINDOWS7 COMPUTERS/Site1" and SMS_G_System_SoftwareProduct.ProductName like "%Oracle Discover%" and SMS_R_System.Name not in (select SMS_R_System.Name from SMS_R_System where SMS_R_System.SystemOUName = "MyDomain.AC.UK/WINDOWS7 COMPUTERS/Site1/A201" or SMS_R_System.SystemOUName like "MyDomain.AC.UK/WINDOWS7 COMPUTERS/Site1/A202") and SMS_R_System.Name not in (select SMS_R_System.Name from SMS_R_System where SMS_R_System.SystemGroupName = "MyDomain\\SCCM_GroupName") regards, Jörgen
  23. Hi, I would recommend that you only configure IP Helpers and NOT any DHCP options, so your IP helpers are pointing to both your DHCP server and your PXE server, then you will have a dynamic solution. Configuring DHCP options is not relay support by MS and it is not best practice and configuring both is not needed at all. Regards, Jörgen
  24. Hi, I agree with Peter, the only scenario I have seen this is when a field engiener reaplced the mainboard in the computer and didn't set the properties when he did so.. Are you seeing this on more than one computer? Regards, Jörgen
