  1. So I'm currently in the process of testing and planning out the migration from SCCM 2008 to 2012. I love the new Software Center, having somewhere that users can request and install applications themselves is something that my company really wants to see. My concern is this - if I make an application available to a large group of users, but only a small number are choose to install it, or are approved to do so, how would you handle deploying a new version or update, but only make it mandatory for those who already have it installed? In SCCM 2007, the way I dealt with software that wasn't deployed to large collections, was to create a separate collection for each piece of software and add resources individually as they required it, then delete an advertisement for the old version of the software, and create a new advertisement for the new version so I could monitor the report and make sure that each instance it was already installed on was getting the new version pushed out, and any resources added to the collection would be getting the newest version. Any tips would be appreciated!
  2. Hey All / Niall - This is my 2nd day at a new environment where SCCM 2012 SP1 was recently introduced. It's set up as a CAS and so far the only things set up were mostly admin things like boundaries and just over 30 secondary sites. The primary site has two SCCM servers - "CCM01" (Win08R2) is the CAS and "CCM02"(Win08R2) the Primary. These are both physical boxes... When working on some packages, I noticed that there seemed to be issues with replication as I got error messages when trying to open / view / edit packages / applications when connected to CCM01 (attached below). When connected to CCM02 things worked great. I did some research and thought I'd revisit it today. This morning I came in and CCM02 (the primary) is down and out. For whatever reason, it's stuck at "Starting Windows" and even safe mode won't bypass that. My manager has been looking at it and decided that since the secondary sites are 2012, that we just blow away the old and rebuild the OS partition of CCM02 fresh and using 2012. When I open the Console, I obviously cannot connect to CCM01, but can to CCM02. Just like yesterday, I cannot view/edit/open Packages & applications, but there's only a few. The infrastructure, boundaries, and all the important stuff seems to be there still. The Issue / Question So... my question is, is there a procedure to do this? There were obviously replication issues to the point I'll probably delete and recreate all programs from scratch, but is this safe? We do have backups of CCM02, but they don't want to restore them because they said the server was built incorrectly in the beginning anyways plus want to go to 2012. Please let me know any thoughts, suggestions, or ideas - Thanks!
  3. Please help. The error I am receiving is "the task sequence cannot be run because the program files cannot be located on a distribution point" I know there has been other topics concerning this issue. But I've tried a lot of those suggestions. I am booting a virtual machine with an iso instead of PXE booting. I am still in the testing phases of this (obviously). The ID it is pointing to is the configuration manager upgrade. However with that said If I were to delete the current package, rebuild it, distribute and deploy it, the next time I try to run the TS it will point to a different package ID. Say the boot package. Repeating the procedure only keeps changing the package. It is like it just keeps going in a package round robin. I have since added my distribution point to a distribution point group. Nothing. I have verified that my domain is correct in my boundary group. I have verified permissions for a user to copy the files to the distribution group. I am just at a loss. If anyone can give me some direction I would appreciate it. We are running SCCM 2012 sp1 . I attached a log file and a screen capture of the actual errorsmsts.log Thanks all!!! <![LOG[LOGGING: Finalize process ID set to 828]LOG]!><time="09:51:09.874+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="832" file="tslogging.cpp:1495"> <![LOG[==============================[ TSBootShell.exe ]==============================]LOG]!><time="09:51:09.874+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="832" file="bootshell.cpp:1052"> <![LOG[succeeded loading resource DLL 'X:\sms\bin\x64\1033\TSRES.DLL']LOG]!><time="09:51:09.874+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="832" file="util.cpp:963"> <![LOG[Debug shell is enabled]LOG]!><time="09:51:09.874+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="832" file="bootshell.cpp:1063"> <![LOG[Waiting for PNP initialization...]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.077+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:60"> <![LOG[RAM Disk Boot Path: MULTI(0)DISK(0)CDROM(0)\SOURCES\BOOT.WIM]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.077+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="configpath.cpp:186"> <![LOG[booted from removable media]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.077+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="configpath.cpp:190"> <![LOG[Checking for "D:\SOURCES\BOOT.WIM"]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.077+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="0" thread="856" file="configpath.cpp:107"> <![LOG[Found D:\SOURCES\BOOT.WIM]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.436+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="0" thread="856" file="configpath.cpp:116"> <![LOG[Remoable media path: D:\SOURCES\BOOT.WIM]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.436+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="configpath.cpp:192"> <![LOG[Found config path D:\]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.436+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:545"> <![LOG[booting from removable media, not restoring bootloaders on hard drive]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.436+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:579"> <![LOG[D:\WinPE does not exist.]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.436+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:596"> <![LOG[D:\_SmsTsWinPE\WinPE does not exist.]LOG]!><time="09:51:10.436+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:610"> <![LOG[Executing command line: wpeinit.exe -winpe]LOG]!><time="09:51:11.575+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:857"> <![LOG[The command completed successfully.]LOG]!><time="09:51:16.021+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:939"> <![LOG[starting DNS client service.]LOG]!><time="09:51:16.021+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:663"> <![LOG[Executing command line: X:\sms\bin\x64\TsmBootstrap.exe /env:WinPE /configpath:D:\]LOG]!><time="09:51:16.552+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:857"> <![LOG[The command completed successfully.]LOG]!><time="09:51:16.552+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="856" file="bootshell.cpp:939"> <![LOG[==============================[ TSMBootStrap.exe ]==============================]LOG]!><time="09:51:16.629+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="1" thread="1100" file="tsmbootstrap.cpp:1129"> <![LOG[Command line: X:\sms\bin\x64\TsmBootstrap.exe /env:WinPE /configpath:D:\]LOG]!><time="09:51:16.629+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="0" thread="1100" file="tsmbootstrap.cpp:1130"> <![LOG[succeeded loading resource DLL 'X:\sms\bin\x64\1033\TSRES.DLL']LOG]!><time="09:51:16.629+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="1" thread="1100" file="util.cpp:963"> <![LOG[succeeded loading resource DLL 'X:\sms\bin\x64\TSRESNLC.DLL']LOG]!><time="09:51:16.629+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="1" thread="1100" file="resourceutils.cpp:169"> <![LOG[Adding SMS bin folder "X:\sms\bin\x64" to the system environment PATH]LOG]!><time="09:51:16.645+480" date="04-05-2013" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="0" thread="1100" file="tsmbootstrap.cpp:963"> <![LOG[Failed to open PXE registry key.   4. Hello, I need some help in figuring out why my site server crashes after I update packages to their Remote Distribution Points. We have had our SCCM environment in place since February and not had an issue until this month. We have had 5 BSODs this month. We thought the problem was resolved after we added an additional 12 GB of RAM to bring the total to 24 GB. I have noticed that it only crashes after I update packages or add new packages to distribution points. It doesn't do it all the time though. The time between the last crash and the most recent is 14 days. Anybody have any thoughts?
  5. Is there a report in SCCM or some way of checking who deployed software to a collection? Scenario: Someone deploys a licensed product package to "all systems" rather than a collection with only a few members.
  6. Is there a way to not delete the MIG file after the USMT has run (successfully or unsuccessfully). I deployed the OS to a computer and the USMT hardlink captured fine, but after the OS was installed and the USMT went to apply the profile, there was a problem with the a local account and didn't apply the USMT mig file. In the task sequence, I have for the restore sequence to "Continue on error." Is there anyway to keep the task sequence from delelting the USMT folder? I can't afford to lose any more MIG files because of a local account problem.
  7. Hello All We are having an issue with our new SCCM Environment. SCCM was happily working, Deploying OS's, Installing and Uninstalling applications and the other day just stopped Uninstalling applications. It will install but wont remove. We are SCCM 2012 SP1 installed on Server 2008R2 we have a Standalone site and our Collections are populated via Querying AD Groups. Our Install and Uninstall Collections are updating and when we check the deployments within properties on the Device it shows the relevant 'Install' or 'Removal' for the required application. What we have noticed is: Before we had the problem even if we didnt have an application installed, within the Software Centre the application would be listed with a Status of Not Installed - Now it does not. If we delete the deployment and recreate we get the same issue If we delete the collection and recreate and then create a new deployment we get the same issue If we create a new application and create an uninstall deployment on the old collection it works We have looked through a lot of logs and have found some errors, not sure of which to post as not sure what is relevant. Can anyone offer any advice? Many Thanks Mark Jones
  8. I have SCCM 2012 SP1 setup with MDT integration. I have setup the Software Base Variable to Coalescedapps in the UDI properties. I setup the TS to install as shown below, but it just blows by the stage. I took the default Install Applications sequence from the MDT wizard and added a Run Command Line that exports the variables to text file. CONVERT LIST TO TWO DIGITS: "cscript.exe "%deployroot%\scripts\ZTICoalesce.wsf" /CoalescePattern:Applications /CoalesceTarget:CoalescedApps /CoalesceDigits:2" RUN COMMAND LINE: "script.exe %deployroot%\scripts\CUSTOM_SCCMVariables.vbs" INSTALL APPS: (SCREENSHOT BELOW) If I go into the Variable text file, I have this output: If I look in the OSDSetupWizard.log I see Problem is I dont see anything in the smsts.log and when I get to the Deployment Complete screen, it shows the apps with ! and Install State unknown, similar to http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/mdt/thread/68f67f55-1d55-469e-9fb8-225030f42ff2 EXCEPT my applications dont install. For some reason, the OSD App Name keeps showing up with the extra 0 in there as well. OSD App Name: COALESCEDAPPS001 Im guessing it's looking for COALESCEDAPPS001 instead of COALESCEDAPPS01. I'm not sure why it's picking up the variable with the extra 0 in front. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks David
  9. Hi Guys I want add one HTA into the TS, so the user can make some selection during the OS deploy. The HTA is work by manual test. But the problem is: It's seem the HTA is hidden by the TS. I can't see any HTA windows. Any idea? Thanks.
  10. Hello everyone; SCCM 2012 server agent deployment process, while I ran into the following error logs. I wonder what could be the reason? "the agent has not collected files matching the file name "*.exe" or the path "*\*" from this computer because the files exceed the maximum size limit of 512 kb. you may need to reconfigure the maximum size limit to allow file collection at the next scheduled agent interval." Thank you.
  11. Is it possible to have a prompt to add domain users as an admin when deploying an OS image? Ive looked this up but it looks like its only possible by using a HTA frontend. I wanted to avoid this if possible.
  12. Hi all, We have a production SCCM 2012 RTM (not SP1) setup with a central primary site and three child sites. A few weeks ago, software stopped deploying to some machines at at least two of the child sites. On investigation, the affected clients didn't seem to have picked up their client config (although they used to have it?!) - the only client actions available were the two policy retrieval actions. This was resolved by running a standard machine policy retrieval, but did not make the software deploy or appear in software center. After some looking around I came across an article by Torsten, which described the scenario completely: http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?from=&to=en&a=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mssccmfaq.de%2F2013%2F03%2F15%2Ffehlende-applications-im-software-center Running the DCM trigger VB on a broken machine (which had had its policy manually retrieved) caused the deployed apps to appear in the software center. However, they showed up with a status of "past deadline - will be installed". At this point it was possible to install the apps from software center which completed successfully. However, that's obviously not much use as a fix or workaround (might aswell just install manually). If a machine was left in this state, after about 24 hours the applications had disappeared from software center again without installing. You can run the VB again to make them re-appear/rinse and repeat. This one has me completely stumped. I've been through most of the relevant logs but have come up with no obvious errors. Site/component status (all sites) all OK etc etc... The only other thing I can think to note is that even if you perform the software installation manually from software center, the app will never show up as successfully installed from SSRS. Any ideas please? Thanks Rob
  13. Hi, We are trying to update a new DP from our old DP where all our packages for winpe boot, image, and all the packages are existed that are deployed by the task sequence within. I know I can do this DP update on each package however, I would like to know if there are ways to do a one shot DP update for OSD and all its packages from OLD DP to New DP. Thanks.
  14. I'm new to using SCCM and I was wondering if it was possible to have a tick box/optional software page as part of the image process/task sequence asking what additional software to install to save manually installing afterwords. This is for additional requests like Microsoft Project that isn't on our organisations standard build. I would like to avoid having multiple task sequences. Anyone got any suggestions?
  15. Thanks for looking over this question. It's driving me crazy. In our corporate environment we have many workstations that auto log in with a machine-specific username and password. We are a hospital, and these are exam PCs, so many important variables are attached to these unique IDs. Right now, the environment is Windows XP 32 bit. We are using Config Manager 07 to deploy Windows 7 64 bit. In the XP environment, I have my task sequence do a command to back up the registry information I need before it downloads PE and reboots. It's a native command line, and it runs a batch file located on a remote server that builds a custom reg file for that machine, naming it dynamically based on the machine's name using the %computername% variable. It pulls out 5 values from this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon It puts them all into a single .reg file that can then be merged manually or via a command line on the 64 bit machine. The reg file works, so it's not malformed or incompatible. However, the problem is that I want do this part automatically as part of the task sequence. There are simply too many PCs to do it manually one-by-one. At the end of my task sequence, after Setup Windows and ConfigMgr, I have placed the 4 attempts, each in their own task: C:\Windows\REGEDIT /s \\server\share\temp\%computername%.reg -redirection is OFF reg add \\server\share\temp\%computername%.reg -redirection is OFF C:\Windows\REGEDIT /s \\server\share\temp\%computername%.reg -redirection is ON reg add \\server\share\temp\%computername%.reg -redirection is ON All of these tasks have Continue on Error enabled and they are all running with an admin account. Again, if I run any one of these commands from the command line while logged in as the admin, they work. As a TS, they do not. From what I can tell the problem is that once the TS is complete there is a hidden final task to prepare the machine to boot into Admin or wait at the ctrl+alt+del screen (it does the latter), and this action clears the registry information I just merged. Does anyone have an idea for a workaround? Ideally, when the task sequence completes the workstation is left in the logged-in state using the autologon registry information. Thank you -Brian
  16. I had a request from a previous post to share how we are changing the computer description during OSD. We currently use this to have our techs enter in the location of the computer to help with automating our inventory. Also, if anyone has a better way of doing this please feel free to contribute. Also, in our environment the description does not filter back to AD it only remains local to the machine but YMMV as I haven't looked too far into that. The description still filters back in through a custom report so it achieves everything that we need it to. 1. Create a computer description TS variable 2. Include the following script as part of one your packages and execute it sometime before your OS install (we include all of our scripts in the MDT Toolkit package) TSComputerDescPrompt.vbs Dim oTaskSequence, strComputerDesc Set oTaskSequence = CreateObject ("Microsoft.SMS.TSEnvironment") ' The wscript.echo commands are logged in SMSTS.log for troubleshooting. ' They are not displayed to the end user. sComputerDesc = InputBox ("Enter desired computer description." &VbCrLf & VbCrLf & "X Domain - Computer location example: BUILDING ROOM #" &VbCrLf &VbCrLf & "Domain - Tag Number example: 10-0454 or 106183","Computer Description",,,30) oTaskSequence("OSDComputerDesc") = sComputerDesc wscript.echo "Set Task Sequence variable OSDComputerDesc to: " & strComputerDesc 3. Execute this final script with another task sometime after the OS install, we do it right after. TSComputerDesc.vbs Dim objShell Dim oTaskSequence, strComputerDesc Set objShell = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.shell") Set oTaskSequence = CreateObject ("Microsoft.SMS.TSEnvironment") ' The wscript.echo commands are logged in SMSTS.log for troubleshooting. ' They are not displayed to the end user. strComputerDesc = oTaskSequence("OSDComputerDesc") objShell.run "reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanServer\Parameters /v srvcomment /d " & strComputerDesc & " /f" wscript.echo "Computer Description changed to: " & strComputerDesc
  17. Hi guys, Got SCCM 2012 with MDT 2012 U1 on a single server. Never had SCCM before and have extended the schema. Server OS is Win 2012 running in VMWare 5.1. Doing OSD's fine, and application deployments via the software catalogue is working without a problem. All good. However when performing an OSD, after installing the SCCM client I have application installs. Regardless of what application I use it fails with error 0x00000032. Nothing really in SMSTS however LocationServices.log does have the following: A Fallback Status Point has not been specified. Message with STATEID='500' will not be sent. Processing pending site assignment. Assigning to site '001' LSIsSiteCompatible : Verifying Site Compatibility for <001> Retrieved lookup MP [KLFBRSCCM01.domain.CORP] from Registry Attempting to retrieve lookup MP(s) from DNS DNS Suffix not specified No lookup MP(s) from DNS Retrieved lookup MP [KLFBRSCCM01.domain.CORP] from Registry Attempting to retrieve lookup MP(s) from DNS DNS Suffix not specified No lookup MP(s) from DNS Attempting to retrieve site information from lookup MP(s) via HTTP Failed to send site information Location Request Message to KLFBRSCCM01.domain.CORP LSIsSiteCompatible : Failed to get Site Version from all directories A Fallback Status Point has not been specified. Cannot get site signing cert. Client is not assigned to a site. Cannot refresh Local MP. Client is not assigned to a site. Cannot get portal info. Executing Task LSSiteRoleCycleTask Failed to execute LSExecuteTask Checked the Systems Management container and the relevant objects appears to be listed fine. Boundaries appear to be setup without problems and OSD application deployments in the Build & Capture also work okay. Applications are enabled for deployment in TS as well as manually / Software Catalogue. Have inserted SMSMP=kflbrsccm01.domain.corp as installation parameter for the agent install, and also set the TS to reboot after it's installed (just before the application installs part of the TS) but no joy - same problem. Looks like it knows where to go to talk to the MP (KFLBRSCCM01). I'm assuming it's using registry as it's gathered after deployment of the SCCM client which has the SMSMP parameter....? Otherwise christ knows where it's geting it from as it should be published in AD fine. Again - nothing obviously in SMSTS, just appears to be problems in the LocationServices but I can't decipher what "LSIsSiteCompatible : Failed to get Site Version from all directories" means!!! Any help appreciated. Thanks - Steve
  18. Hi, Guys, I' get a trouble on SCCM 2012, is that the SQL Reporting service LOG file continued growth (two days ago was 4.14GB, today is 7.9GB), but the SQL database MDF absolutely no change (always 42MB). What's problem on SQL or SCCM. Thanks!
  19. Dear all; First thing I would like to thank all of you for your support and knowledge sharing. I have an issue with SCCM 2012 and Active Directory, I will describe it here. I have three Active directory one of them OS 2003 r2 and tow are 2008 r2. 2003 was handeling all FSMO roles and I moved the FSMO roles to 2008 r2 and tried to demote the 2003 to get the full 2008 r2 features, but when I was turned off 2003 for a while to make sure all our systems are up and running SCCM 2012 can not connect to database which the database on seperate server. For the information when I trune of AD 2003 SCCM 2012 connect to DB. I wish if someone helps me to resolve the issue. Best Regards
  20. I am trying to understand how to use an established task sequence for OSD and use it to target a collection. There has to be something different on how the programs are configured in task sequence that are making it diffcult to deploy as intended. What should you look for? Would you remove all reboots and leave one for the end? Below is the error from the execmgr.log And if there i better way at doing this then please let me know. I am trying to bascially come up with a way to have my company order workstations and those computers recieve the software normally achieved during the OSD. 21. I work for a large company. We'll deploy Win7 to hundreds of computers with MDT medias (install from USB because of network portion was not ready). We plan to do the subsequent installations via SCCM. But I'd like to do lite touch installation with SCCM 2007 R3; while installing, setup should ask for computer name, where it should reside in (I'm using domainou.xml file with MDT) and time zone. Is this possible?
  22. Hello All, We are performing LTI with the UDI module. When administrator enters the intended name of the computer we need to get this name (presumably OSDComputerName task sequence variable) and add some text to it. We already got the concatenating portion of the script, but need help with the first part and the third parts. So, basically we need to perform the following sub-tasks: Get the task sequence variable with the intended computer name which was entered by the administrator. Verify/modify it (this portion we already implemented) Set the task sequence variable using the modified computer name. Would you be so kind to advise on the following questions: Should we use the OSDComputerName task sequence variable or any other else? What the code in the PowerShell should be in order to get the input from the administrator and set the new computer name? What is the proper location of this task should be in the task sequence? We prefer to get it before the OS is installed, but would highly appreciate if you provide is with the location. Also, we received the following error: PS C:\Windows\system32> $tsenv = New-Object -COMObject Microsoft.SMS.TSEnvironment New-Object : Cannot load COM type Microsoft.SMS.TSEnvironment. At line:1 char:20 + $tsenv = New-Object <<<< -COMObject Microsoft.SMS.TSEnvironment + CategoryInfo : InvalidType: ( [New-Object], PSArgumentException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : CannotLoadComObjectType,Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.NewObjectCommand Thank you very much for your time and help!
  23. Hi Guys, This is a really simple question I think and wondered if anyone had a definitive answer... If a user sets their business hours as 00:00 to 00:00 for every day of the week, does this mean that the machine believes it's in use 24/7 and no software updates etc are deployed to the client? Or does it mean that effectively the user has no business hours? I just don't want anyone to have the ability to block any critical management activities. Thanks, Ian.
  24. Hello, I running with a new 2012 build: Windows 2012 STD, SQL 2012 (CU5), and SCCM 2012 SP1. I installed WSUS and then SUP and most of the updates are downloading. Sporadically the wsyncmgr.log is showing : Failed to sync update “xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx”. Error: The Microsoft Software License Terms have not been completely downloaded and cannot be accepted. Source: Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.BaseApi.SoapExceptionProcessor.DeserializeAndThrow. I have looked at a lot of the solutions out there and of them none appear to apply. Permisisons in the DB and folders are good. WSUS path is good in SQL. Thank you! One side note: SUP had only English selected as my choice but when I was reviewing the settings in the WSUS console it was set to download all languages.
  25. I am currenty replacing SCCM 2007 with SCCM 2012. Because of that, I have two fully working environments. Performing a new OSD with a machine directly from the factory is easy in SCCM2012: I simply import the compuer, with it's desired hostname, and the MAC adress of the machine, and point towards a specific device collection, allowing the task sequence to run. (I do not use unknown computer support in the 2012 enviroment, but we did in the previous 2007 environment). Performing OSD that way, works like a charm! I can even deploy the SCCM 2012 agent to a SCCM 2007 machine, making it communicating fully, then making the system a member of the very same osd-collection, in that way triggering the OSD via PXE or from Windows in the Software Center. I'm using Option 66 and 67 in my DHCP, on specific scopes. Recently, I've been trying to educate my collegues, in how to use the SCCM 2012 console. A collegue of mine simply asked: "what's the easiest way to reinstall a computer, that is currently in the SCCM 2007 system?" Well, as I have the "Active Directory System Discovery" discovery method enabled, I can actually see the objects from our AD under devices in SCCM 2012. Deploying the SCCM 2012 agent to one of those object would work, and then making it a member of the collection. But that's a bit unnecessary, right? So, I just tried to rightclick on the object, which currently says Client=No (as the machine is a member of the sccm 2007, or none at all), choose "add selected items" -> "add selected items to existing device collection", choosing my osd-collection. Seems legit? Trying to PXE a machine gives me the following: "CLIENT MAC ADDR: BLABLABLA GUID: BLABLABLA CLIENT IP: 172.X.X.X MASK: 255.255.255.0 DHCP IP: 172.X.X.X GATEWAY IP: 172.X.X.X Downloaded WDSNBP...
