  1. Hello everyone, I'm a little bit confused about ports for SCCM client. Our network environment has a restricted vlan. The clients are in the restricted vlan. I don't know which ports are needed for pushing and communicating with our SCCM server. These port would be permitted on our company firewall. Also clients have permitted ports for WMI and file and printer sharing on each PC by GPO. I read the MS Technet documentation of SCCM and I've found these ports: 80 (TCP) 433 (TCP) 1433 (TCP) 445 (TCP) 10123 (TPC) Are these ports ok or some of them are wrong? I want to permit only necessary ports. Thanks for any answer Tom
  2. Hello to all, I open my record again at the forum with a problem that is driving me crazy I have in my work environment a problem with many accounts that are abnormally block. I started all the troubleshooting steps, and slowly I'm probably coming to realize what it is, but I have this event that I can not read well: EventId: 5 The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_TKT_NYV error from the server% 1. This Indicates That the ticket used against That server is not yet valid (in relationship to That time server). Contact your system administrator to make sure the client and server times are in sync, and That the KDC in realm% 2 is in sync with the KDC in the client realm. Ok I found that could be a problem Kerberos ticket but the strangest thing I do not understand is why this computer receives this error from another pc and not by a server: The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_TKT_NYV WORKSTATION1 error from the server. This Indicates That the ticket used against That server is not yet valid (in relationship to That time server). Contact your system administrator to make sure the client and server times are in sync, and That the KDC in realm DOMINIO.NET is in sync with the KDC in the client realm. You can help me ?? THANK YOU
  3. I have recently upgraded my SCCM environment to 1511. I am trying to locate the install files for the client side agent for manual installs. With the requirement of .NET 4.5.2, I had to stop the server clients from updating automatically since some of our legacy applications cannot run on higher than .NET 4.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
  4. Hey Guys / Niall - I wanted to make this post as even though still researching, it hasn't been going that well... I recently installed SCCM 2012 R2 (which I updated to SP1 CU3) in an environment which recently had SCCM 1511 installed and no longer used and I hear SCCM 2007 in the past. When deploying clients from the console, only about 30% of them are responding as actually being installed. When I look at logs, I see that the client installs correctly on all, but Location Services shows the below errors: After research, I tried sending "ccmsetup RESETKEYINFORMATION=TRUE" to a couple of the systems, but no change. I also looked in AD and the schema is extended and the System Management container contains records for the Primary and both Secondaries. Instead of the default of SMSSITECODE in the the Client Installation properties, I tried adding SMSMP and DNSSUFFIX but client it seems to not have helped. We are running an HTTP site - not HTTPS so don't know how or why certs would be affected, but perhaps one was run once in the past. One more note, prior to client deployment, I found out about 3,000 of the 13,000 systems already had a previous version of some type of client installed (they were running ccmexec.exe.) Therefore, using the legacy deployment system had them deploy ccmclean on each of them. I do not know if the clients which are affected are ones that previously had a version of the client installed or not. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate them - Thanks! UPDATE I just saw at the top of that log that it's "Assigning to site" of the old 1511 site code and finds a DNS record for the old 1511 Primary server. Could this just be due to DNS? Before installing, the Systems management container was empty. I just looked again and it still contains not reference to the old site. How is this happening and (besides the DNS entry) what do I need to delete? THanks!
  5. I recently upgraded from R2 to 1511 and set the hierachy settings to auto update clients. This worked on a couple of test machines but failed on two others. The scheduled task appears after a policy retreival but when it runs it fails with the errors below. Can anyone help? i'm new to SCCM and struggling with this one. It seems to be failing with pre reqs (.NET i think). Thanks.
  6. after installing sp1 on sccm 2012, updated DP , but it won't install the new client on workstation shows this error in the log" Client version '5.00.7804.1000' is not compatible with the site '111' version '5.00.7711.0000 so frustated
  7. Good Morning All / Niall - I'm setting up a Windows 7 x64 Pro OSD TS in a new 1511 environment and am stuck on something. I'm set up numerous OSD TS's before, but this is my first with 1511. Everything goes well until it gets to the step where the client is installed & configured where it stays there for probably 10-15 minutes. Eventually, it reboots then goes to the next step which still shows a message about the client on the 2nd progress bar then fails. When I log into Windows (after it reboots from the failure), the domain is joined and I may log in with domain credentials. I launch the SCCM Client properties in Control Panel and see that there's no site selected nor client certificate. I did find that if I manually enter the site code into the client under the "Site" tab, it immediately finds the site and connects to it. What I've Tried / Examined I've tried a few different things - all with the same results - including building a new client package from scratch using the steps in Niall's famous guides, and using in the task sequence; using the SMSMP string in the client properties of the TS, and examining log files. Even though I see a couple of errors in the ccmsetup.log, the client seems to physically installs fine and exits with code 0. When looking at LocationServices.log, I see a few things, though: In case the screenshot doesn't come through... Failed to resolve 'SMS_SLP' from WINS Unable to find lookup MP(s) in Registry, AD, DNS and WINS LSIsSiteCompatible : Failed to get Site Version from all directories Client is not assigned to a site. Cannot get site signing cert. LsRefreshManagementPointEx failed with 0x80004005 Client is not assigned to a site. Cannot refresh Local MP. Client is not assigned to a site. Cannot get portal info. The above loops amongst a few information messages Any ideas or suggestions to what this may be? I've got to get all of this working today! Thanks!
  8. I'm wondering if there is a way to exclude the client package from the step "Setup Windows and ConfigMgr"?
  9. Microsoft's SCCM has a new feature called "wake up proxy" whereby host a pretends to be host b (host a spoof's the mac address of host when host b goes to sleep. Needless to say, we were seeing tons of mac address flapping and port-security issues. On the client settings that you deploy to your devices, If you have power management selected and have wake up proxy as yes or enabled, it wll cause network card " flapping" or rebroadcast of your mac address accross the wan. This will trigger port security and bring down your network. Refer to the Cisco Tac Below. Only in sp1 sccm 2012. Dont enable this feature, your network and security team will hate you once they found out SCCM 2012 sp1 caused this! What a nightmare. This is apparently a pretty new issue. over 2k users experiecned rolling blackouts of there ports becuase we have port security turned on our switches. Suck it Microsoft! https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2220560
  10. Hi, I will try to explain my problem in english but I m french. I use 2012R2 CU4 and when I go to monitor -> client operation I can see I have 1 client safe but no integrated and 19 client inactives or without client installed. My 1 client is OK for me, I can have remote access, it download upladed ... I don't understand how to repair it now. I have on the right side : Client Provider WMI with a red cross. I already repair WMI and now if I do wmimgmt and remote connexion to this computer, I can see information. My other clients, I don't know what I have to do. Some one are really inactives because they are not in the DNS so it's normal. What will happen when they will reconnect ? They will become active automaticly ? For the other, I take one, repair WMI + reinstall client but same result... I can take remote access to it, I don't understand why the console say me there is a problem. How can I diagnostic and solve this issue please ? Thank you
  11. Do I need redeploy SCCM agent to all clients after I made any changes? For example, if I add security group to Remote Tool Client Agent permitted viewers, when that will get applied? After next client policy polling interval? Thanks Marcin
  12. I am using an MDT integrated UDI task sequence to deploy an operating system (Win7 x64), install the SCCM client then install applications/packages. After the OS .wim file is applied the SCCM Client package is downloaded to C:\_SMSTaskSequence\OSD\SP100017\ The machine then reboots and goes back into the task sequence to install the client, but fails. The appropriate bit of ccmsetup.log is below and the full file is attached Despite copying the files locally to C:\_SMSTaskSequence\OSD\SP100017\ it is looking for them in C:\windows\ccmsetup\, when it doesnt find them it tries to download them via BITS. The SCCM server is serving these files up ok (if I stick the URL to the file in a browser it serves it up without needing authentication). From hitting F8 during the task sequence and running "bitsadmin /list /allusers /verbose" it shows the BITS jobs are there but in a suspended state. Running "bitsadmin /listfiles <ID of bits job>" it shows no files in any of the bits jobs. "bitsadmin /reset" won't cancel the jobs as they are running under SYSTEM. Also tried stopping the bits service, deleting the BITS related files under C:\ProgramData\Microsoft and starting the service, which clears the jobs from BITS but when ccmsetup.exe is rerun the jobs are readded as suspended and the same thing happens. I also tried pausing the TS, copying the client files from C:\_SMSTaskSequence\OSD\SP100017\ to where it is expecting (C:\Windows\ccmsetup\) then resuming. However even though client.msi is in C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ where it is looking for it, it still tries to grab it via BITS and fails C:\Windows\ccmsetup\client.msi defintately exists locally (tried with both 32 and 64 bit files) but for some reason it still wants to go off and grab it from the SCCM server via BITS. I've searched high and low over the internet and read all the suggestions but am stumped. ccmsetup.log
  13. Hello, everyone! I'm having a bit of trouble trying to get any of my Linux servers to communicate with SCCM. I'm fairly new to Linux, but the SCCM environment is functioning well from a Windows perspective. The issue: Linux client installs ok (installed as root), but is getting a 404 message returned from the management point (there is only 1 MP and no FSP's in this environment). I've re-installed the MP, verified MP functionality, verified authentication method is HTTP and not HTTPS, allowed internet clients (has since been turned off), ran wireshark to verify the client is getting a 404 return from SMS_MP on the MP. I've also added the FQDN of the MP into the hosts file on the Linux client (as well as a machine name alias), and verified I can ping the FQDN and machine name. There are no windows firewalls on the clients, and all ports are open between the MP and the Linux client. I've tried this on other Linux servers with the same exact results. My install command is: ./install -mp FQDN -sitecode SITECODE ccm-Universalx64.tar Linux OS: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS Windows OS: Server 2012 R2 Latest Linux/Unix client from MS SCCM 2012 R2 up-to-date Both SCCM and the Linux client are VMs. With a fresh client install, I receive these errors in the client log: 2015-08-19T16:19:07,224Z Warning [scx.client.locationservices.RefreshLocationServicesTask:143:23388:139806701348672] Failed to connect to the assigned Management Point. 14. Hello i just deployed application to client computer. And i can see it in Software Center. But when i installing a software, it just freezes at 0% installing. What is wrong with it?
  15. Hello guys. Im using SCCM 2012. I just deployed application to my client computer(win7-32). But from client computer i cant see deployed application in software center and application catalog.Must i use distribition point to deploy any application? What log should i see?
  16. Good Morning Guys / Niall - A couple of months ago, I applied CU4 to our SCCM 2012 R2 environment and this past weekend, CU5 mostly due to the IsCacheCopyNeeded issue. When applying the CUs, I'm extremely thorough in my procedure and remediate to ensure that every single of our ~1000 clients receives the update if at all possible. There's only one part of the process I don't fully understand - the best method to apply the CU's MSP for future console pushes and OSD. I did some research and below are the three most common (individual) solutions I've found: 1. Copy MSP into a subfolder for each client source (\x64 & \i386). I've found posts where the folder should be named "hotfix", posts where it should be named "ClientPatch", and one post saying to create and copy it into both folders. The theory is that similar to the Office installation, once the primary installer completes, it searches pre-defined paths for MSP patches and applies them. I currently have both folders in my source and only have the latest CU MSP in them. Supposedly, this should ensure that all OSD deployments and console pushes will install the latest client by default so there's no need for a 2nd advertisement Example of where to place CU MSPs: - \\SCCMPrimaryServert\SMS_ABC\Client\i386\ClientPatch\configmgr2012ac-r2-kb3054451-i386.msp - \\SCCMPrimaryServert\SMS_ABC\Client\i386\hotfix\configmgr2012ac-r2-kb3054451-i386.msp - \\SCCMPrimaryServert\SMS_ABC\Client\x64\ClientPatch\configmgr2012ac-r2-kb3054451-i386.msp - \\SCCMPrimaryServert\SMS_ABC\Client\x64\hotfix\configmgr2012ac-r2-kb3054451-i386.msp 2. For OSD: Add step in OSD TS for client update package. This one is pretty straight forward. Never update the default client package and simply add a step in OSD for the update package which the CU creates 3. For Console Pushes & everything else - Maintain a query-based collection for all clients which are out of date. For it, always have an open advertisement for each of the latest (x64 & x86) client upgrade packages So - which of the above (if any) are the best solution? There are countless guides online for applying CUs for SCCM, but I haven't found any which discuss how to apply the CU to future client installs once the site has been completely updated. Any comments, suggestions, or anything else would be much appreciated - Thanks!
  17. Hi, Ages ago someone deployed SCCM 2007 in our environment. I don't want to get into details about it. Simple saying it is not working as it should. It has't been patched updated etc. Total mess. I have set up a new SCCM 2007 server, created completely separate SCCM site. Created boundary to be sure that those are not overlapping and works like a charm. Apps deploying without problems, OSD works too. My question is, how quick and efficient move all clients from old SCCM site to the newly created? My first thought was to uninstall SCCM clients and then extend boundary of new SCCM and push client installation from new server. Is this good approach or there is other, maybe simpler way to do that? Both SCCM server has to work at the same time during the transition. There are hundreds PCs so going from one to another is not an option. Thanks.
  18. I tried to install sccm client to systems using site-wide automatically .but after a much time waiting It doesn't work and now I have to use push installation .that's OK .but its a little slow to check for updates .whats the solution in order to updating systems as fast as possible.?
  19. Hi, I've been using SCCM 2012 R2 for some time know, but there are still some mysteries to me. I have been asked to start deploying software updates through it rather than WSUS or Windows Updates itself. Before i came along, people got their updates the old fashion way-Windows Updates. So after the grueling task of figuring that out, i've got it working-ish! My main concern with this method (and also Endpoint) is that the majority of our users are NOT on the domain/network at all times. We do have several hub offices whose machines are on the network, but our line of work is mostly remote. Meaning these users are on home, hotel or data card wifi--not the network. They also rarely get on VPN. So my question is: are these people going to receive updates or endpoint definitions while being "offline?" I have a bunch of machines listed as inactive in Devices since they are never on our network. Is there a call home feature I'm unaware about with the sccm client? Keep in mind, when the machines are sent out, they are all sent out the same and with the client installed and working properly. Is this a bad setup in our environment? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
  20. Hey Guys / Niall - I've got a fairly straightforward question for you. When the SCCM (2012 R2) Client is installed / deployed to a system, successfully downloads locally, but fails, it retries installation by default every 30 minutes. When creating an Orchestrator runbook for Client Health, I'm needing ccmsetup to try only once. So basically, I'm trying to find out how to make ccmsetup.exe not retry installation and simply fail. There is a "Retry" command line switch for ccmsetup (/retry:<Minutes>) where minutes may be specified, however, this does not pertain to the actual installation, but the initial download of the setup files. It does not have an affect on the client installation, itself. Yes, a simple script could be created which could kill the process after X, but prefer a native (or at least better) solution. Any ideas? Thanks!
  21. I have recently just installed SCCM 2012 following the guides provided by Windows-Noob. I used the HTTPS communication, and I am pretty sure all certificates were distributed to clients successfull as I see them Certificates on local machine. I have configured all the boundaries, client discovery, as well as the client push settings. I am using an SCCM account that I am still currently using in my SCCM 2007 environment, and it does indeed have domain admin rights. The 2012 Console does find all the clients, but will not install the client. When I try an isntall the client manually I get the following error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: ccmsetup.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications's support team for more information. the CCMLog on the client looks like this <![LOG[Performing AD query: '(&(ObjectCategory=mSSMSManagementPoint)(mSSMSDefaultMP=TRUE)(mSSMSSiteCode=TOR))']LOG]!><time="11:49:38.895+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="0" thread="1688" file="lsad.cpp:640"> <![LOG[Retrieved 0 MP records from AD for site 'TOR']LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="0" thread="1688" file="lsadcache.cpp:287"> <![LOG[Failed to get site version from AD with error 0x87d00215]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="2" thread="1688" file="siteinfo.cpp:578"> <![LOG[siteCode: TOR]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:2051"> <![LOG[siteVersion: ]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:2052"> <![LOG[No MPs were specified from commandline or the mobileclient.tcf.]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:9730"> <![LOG[Downloading file ccmsetup.cab]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:5569"> <![LOG[Determining source location...]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:5419"> <![LOG[Found accessible source: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\CCM\Cache\INF00006.1.System]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:5489"> <![LOG[Found available source C:\Windows\SysWOW64\CCM\Cache\INF00006.1.System\]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:5505"> <![LOG[Downloading C:\Windows\SysWOW64\CCM\Cache\INF00006.1.System\ccmsetup.cab to C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.cab]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.005+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:5653"> <![LOG[File download 100% complete (9513 of 9513 bytes).]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.161+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="0" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:8848"> <![LOG[Deleted file C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.cab]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.255+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:9156"> <![LOG[Download complete.]LOG]!><time="11:49:40.255+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:5751"> <![LOG[C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.cab is Microsoft trusted.]LOG]!><time="11:50:05.895+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="util.cpp:1309"> <![LOG[successfully extracted manifest file C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.xml from file C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.cab.]LOG]!><time="11:50:06.239+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6554"> <![LOG[Loading manifest file: C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.xml]LOG]!><time="11:50:06.239+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="manifest.cpp:153"> <![LOG[successfully loaded ccmsetup manifest file.]LOG]!><time="11:50:07.708+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="manifest.cpp:171"> <![LOG[Checking if manifest version '5.00.7804.1000' is newer than the ccmsetup version '5.0.7804.1000']LOG]!><time="11:50:07.708+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:10140"> <![LOG[Running from temp downloaded folder or manifest is not newer than ccmsetup.]LOG]!><time="11:50:07.708+240" date="08-19-2014" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="1688" file="ccmsetup.cpp:2188"> <![LOG[item 'i386/vcredist_x86.exe' is applicable.   22. I am having an issue with my SCCM 2012R2 network. An Increasing number of clients have stopped checking in. Software Center is blank and nothing is advertised. I have to reinstall the client from the console to get it working. once the client is re-installed software center is populated again. Any idea of what causes this and how can i prevent it? BTW this is going over a large Geographically dispersed WAN
  23. Hi, We have recently noticed that the client has stopped automatically installing onto laptop/desktops. We have had everything run successfully for over 6 months and I have spoken with other administrators and nothing appears to have changed on the domain. Once imaged you can see within C:\Windows that the 'ccmsetup' folder has been copied across but not further action has taken place. In order for the client to install correctly with Endpoint Protection I have to manually run the client.exe file. After this process Endpoint Protection is installed and I can see SCCM now states the machine has the client installed, allowing for remote control, deploying software etc etc. Post image I have noticed on Configuration Manager that the Client Certificate states 'None' rather than 'PKI'. Has anyone else experienced this problem and/or recommend the appropriate logs to be reviewing. Thanks
  24. I have had a few clients that have had the request of having multiple business hours for differnt sites or departments for one reason for another. When you have alot of machines its not the best idea to just bounce to each machine and set the hours so I stumbled upon this and it has been a life saver. Go to Asset Compliance > Configuration Items and right click to create a new configuraton item. You create a discovery script to get your current settings: $cmClientUserSettings = [WmiClass]"\\.\ROOT\ccm\ClientSDK:CCM_ClientUXSettings" $businessHours = $cmClientUserSettings.GetBusinessHours() $businessHoursCI = [string]$businessHours.StartTime + "," + [string]$businessHours.EndTime + "," + [string]$businessHours.WorkingDays Return $businessHoursCI It will return a value like 7,19,62 for 7 am to 7pm Monday-Friday all you would do to modify that is use the script below and the chart to add up the days. Sunday 1 Monday 2 Tuesday 4 Wednesday 8 Thursday 16 Friday 32 Saturday 64 So if you would want Sunday - Saturday it would be 127 then 5am to 7 pm you would just modify the script to look like it does below. You create a remediation script to set new business hours: $startTime = 5 $endTime = 19 $workingDays = 127 $cmClientUserSettings = [WmiClass]"\\.\ROOT\ccm\ClientSDK:CCM_ClientUXSettings" $businessHours = $cmClientUserSettings.PSBase.GetMethodParameters("SetBusinessHours") $businessHours.StartTime = $StartTime $businessHours.EndTime = $EndTime $businessHours.WorkingDays = $WorkingDays Try { $result = $cmClientUserSettings.PSBase.InvokeMethod("SetBusinessHours", $businessHours, $Null) If ($result.ReturnValue -eq 0 ) { "Success." } Else { "Failed to set SCCM client business hours." } } Catch { "Failed to set SCCM client business hours." } You can then deploy that to every machine or if you would like to have multiple business hours you would make multiple configuration items then just deploy them to seperate collections. This has come in handy for me being able to set multiple business hours across a company, I hope somebody else finds it useful. Bryan
  25. I've been dealing with about 400 machines out of 1500 that report that the client in the console shows No. I've gone to several clients only to find that they do have it installed, listed in Control Panel, MP registration is valid and assigned to the one and only Site on our Domain. This occurs on multiple subnets not just 1 and I have several machines in different subnets that do report with Yes Client. SO here I am trying to locate the disconnect... Machines on different subnets, each have a valid boundary and boundary group assigned to a DP, with the check box on Site Assignment of my site, etc, which is apart of the same Domain and 1 MP that the other 1000 machines report Yes fine on. So just for sakes, because I looked around Google for so long without answers, I wanted to pass by and pose this question here. I think below should prove validity that my clients are truly there but the Console says No...
